Movies to Catch in May

This May several highly anticipated movies are hitting theaters and expected to have box offices buzzing.

Whether you want to watch superheroes, funny cops, singers or a futuristic adventure – here are some of the most talked about flicks premiering next month:

  • The Avengers: Age of Ultron officially opens nationwide May 1. This is the awaited sequel to the 2012 box office hit The Avengers. For Fans of: Any of the Marvel movies.
  • Hot Pursuit is out May 8. This comedy tells the story of an uptight policewoman’s unlikely friendship with a criminal’s widow. For fans of: The Heat.
  • Pitch Perfect 2 premieres May 15, continuing the story of a college a cappella group’s fight to become the best of the best in competitive singing. For fans of: Pitch Perfect 1!
  • Tomorrowland opens May 22. This sci-fi Disney flick will take you to an alternative dimension packed with action the whole family can enjoy. For fans  of: Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Welcome back, City Market!

After a four-month hibernation, the popular City Market is back! Located in front of the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, local farmers and artisans set up every Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They share their goods with the community including crafts, handmade soaps and lotions, pottery, jewelry, fresh produce, meats and eggs, sweet treats and so much more. The Fayetteville City Market season kicks off tomorrow, April 18, and goes through December!

Check out a few of this year’s vendors:

  • Get your meat and eggs fresh from Our Father’s Farm, a family farm that raises animals and produce in a healthy and natural environment free of chemical pesticides, herbicides or antibiotics.
  • Pick up some lip balm, moisturizer or essential oils from Bushy Tails, a company specializing in handmade, organic beauty and home products.
  • Watch a spinning wheel in action thanks to Pine Shire Farm, a multi-generational family farm utilizing organic methods to produce luxury fiber that is spun into shawls and other beautiful products.
  • Join the “farm-to-bowl” revolution with Chew Monster dog treats. Each ingredient in these healthy, homemade doggy snacks is thoughtfully sourced from local farms!
