Fayetteville’s Favorite Observer

Many of you have heard that The Fayetteville Observer is the oldest newspaper in North Carolina, but did you know the paper was originally called the Carolina Observer?! It’s also one of the largest family-owned newspapers in the country to this day. It has been passed down through four generations of one remarkable family!

With such strong roots, it’s no surprise The Fayetteville Observer has been honored with several prestigious awards throughout its history. Just three years ago the paper won an impressive 10 first place awards at the North Carolina Press Association’s annual ceremony.

Today the publication is undoubtedly a leading source for local news, remaining dedicated to serving the community and its readers throughout the Cape Fear region. Getting the paper seems to be part of most Fayetteville residents’ morning routines – is it part of yours?

The Fayetteville Observer offices on Hay Street in Fayetteville.
