Opening this Month: Kids In Sports

Don’t miss the grand opening of North Carolina’s first Kids In Sports location, right here at Marketfair shopping center! A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held tomorrow and the official grand opening is this Saturday, Sept. 17.

Kids In Sports teaches children ages 12 months to 12 years sports fundamentals in a safe, fun, friendly and supportive environment. The educational youth sports program aims to make a difference in the community and future generations by helping youth develop those type of skills that lead to long-term success in life.

All of its multi-sport or sport-specific classes are designed to offer a combined learning experience that engages a child’s mind as well as their bodies – meaning youth of all ages in the Fayetteville community will be able to develop not only athletic abilities, but also everyday skills such as respect and communication.

No matter if your child is just starting to learn a new sport or looking to develop their competitive skills further, there is a Kids In Sports program for children of all ages and levels. Stay in the loop on Kids In Sports updates and more new business coming to the plaza here!

How We Said Goodbye to Summer!

Around 400 members of the Fayetteville community gathered to say goodbye to summer and hello to the new school year at our block party last weekend! We had a blast with everyone – from eating delicious free food from Which Wich and Mikoto Japanese Express, to visiting the complimentary face painting booth and playing outdoor games from Gander Mountain.

Here’s a recap of some of the fun activities that went on and were made possible by our Marketfair shopping center stores:

  • The Rocket Fizz soda tasting station and bottle ring toss game were definitely crowd favorites! The candy and soda pop shop also raffled off gift baskets and gift cards to a few lucky winners.
  • DJ Tommy King kept the party going with his fun mix of tunes!
  • Sports lovers enjoyed our interactive football and volleyball toss station provided by our newest tenant, Kids in Sports! Some raffle prize winners also went home with backpacks and gift cards!
  • Many guests left with other raffle prize winnings like free movie tickets to Carmike, gift cards, backpacks, a tablet from H.H. Gregg and free one-year memberships to Planet Fitness.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this year’s Back-to-School Block Party a huge success! We are so grateful for everyone’s support – together we raised hundreds of dollars for our charity partner the Cumberland County District PTA Council, and we’ll also be donating another $1,000 on behalf of Marketfair. Here’s to a great 2016-2017 school year!
