A Broader Future for the Fayetteville Community

Our city would not be the same without all of the support it receives from local organizations! Check out this amazing nonprofit in our area:

A Broader Future focuses on positively impacting the futures of Fayetteville youth and their families. This program emphasizes the importance of arts, culture, music, sports, and health and wellness through the many projects provided to its participants, as described below.

  • Creative Xpressions: The importance of photography and its connection to imagination is taught to at risk youth through the exploration of field trips and the study of artistic books and films.
  • B.F. Feeds: This is a food collection project that distributes food to the elderly, homeless and the agencies that support the homeless throughout our area.
  • Nutrition, Health and Wellness: This is a program that encourages youth to explore the importance of food, nutrition, body image and hygiene. Through various learning activities participants become aware of their eating habits and strengthen their wellbeing.
  • Bull City Prep: Academics and athletics are strengthened though the systematic program which guides young men to prepare for their future by gaining a strong education as well as strong athletic skills.

Fayetteville Summer Camps For All

The kids are officially out of school and it won’t be long before boredom starts setting in. Summer camps are a great way to not only help your children make some of their fondest memories of the season, but these camps also give you back some of those daytime hours you’re used to them being out of the house!

No matter what your child is interested in, there is likely a camp in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg and Cumberland County that meets both their needs and yours. Here are some of the popular area camps this season that range from arts to sports to academics:

  • Razzle Dazzle Arts Summer Theatre Camps: Campers ages eight to 16 are immersed in musical theatre and involved in all aspects of show production. A weeklong “Oklahoma” program is offered twice this summer, with the second session taking place July 20 to 24.
  • YMCA of Fayetteville: The Y-Palooza day camp gives kids an active and adventurous experience with themed weeks that include daily projects, games and outside playtime, a field trip, swimming and more! Designed for six- to 13-year-olds, participants learn new games and skills all while developing their confidence and character.
  • Fayetteville Academy Summer Odyssey: A variety of fun weekly camps suiting both the academic and sports loving child are available for students ages three through high school. Applications are accepted from all students, regardless of where they go to school during the regular academic year, and spaces are filling up quickly!
  • The Little Gym of Fayetteville: The Super Kids’ Quest Camp challenges youth ages three through 12 to spend three adventure-filled hours a day completing an exciting mission or “Quest” that employs a fun storyline. These creative programs are offered weekly now through mid-August.
